What a beautiful venue! Attended a wedding here this weekend, and it was absolutely beautiful! The food, the hospitality, the view! Couldn’t fault anything! The wine that we tried was lovely. And the lovely staff even offered to give us a lift down in to Holmfirth where we were staying, as there was a bit of a wait for taxis! Fantastic day!

We had our wedding reception at Sheveling Wine Estate on 15th September 2018...
Where do we start?
From the beginning...
We visited the vineyard on a weekend away a year earlier and were introduced to the function room whilst on a wine tasting tour, even in pouring rain we were taken with the view. The room is stunningly simple with beautiful swirling chandeliers. We organised a package there and then and we were set.
Planning: Nothing was too much trouble for Maria, the wedding coordinator, during planning she went well above and beyond and whatever we asked the answer was yes! She had everything under control in the lead up as I was getting nervous, even adding guests on last minute, ensuring there was more than enough food and drink for our hungry and very thirsty guests (real ale fans- Maria ordered extra kegs which were needed)... She even went and personally bought extra candles for the outside area (we hired the conservatory, well worth it). We had organised a lot ourselves-- favours, cake, canapés, pick and mix, florist, room dressing and there was no issue with any of this. We gave Maria a room plan with quite a few instructions--different favours for different people and children and there was not a single one out of place on the day , so impressive.
The accommodation: Maria was available from very early on the morning of the wedding, which was reassuring, even sending someone to the accommodation when we couldn't work the stove and sent extra tea, coffee and milk which we really appreciated. We think the accommodation is beautiful, really comfy beds, spotlessly clean, loads of room and powerful showers. We had the 2 largest rooms the night before the wedding (sleeps 8 with THREE bathrooms in each!!) and all of the rooms the night of the wedding taken by our lovely guests who all loved them. When the guests arrived after the church service, there was ample parking at the accommodation and someone waiting with the keys and a list ensuring the right guests got the right apartments. Thank you! The bridal suite is stunning with a bottle of Sheveling's English sparkling wine waiting for us (we got in at 3am so we took this home), this is our favourite fizz and we drink a lot of wine.
The reception: The actual day could not have been more perfect! Becky was there when we arrived from church, she is owner of the vineyard, we had spoken to her the day that we booked and it was so lovely her being there. Her lovely son was in attendance too who was very keen to get involved and help out. She brought a big box of toys for the children to play with, I'm pretty sure she was giving out extra welcome drinks to our guests (we had rose wine, real ale and lager) and even offered to wash one of our flower girls' dresses when she spilled a drink down it- above and beyond, thank you so much. She kept asking what she could do for us and nearly ended up aiding me to the toilet at one point (my dress was quite big). Lots of our guests commented on how well looked after they felt. The way everything had been set out was just beautiful-- the presentation of the canapés, table plan and pick and mix table. Maria brought her own chalk pen to write on signs I had bought to put on a basket of throws and sparklers and made them really pretty, she has gorgeous hand writing. The whole day went to plan- we were behind schedule but it didn't matter and I didn't feel stressed in any way by it. Maria had it all in order as master of ceremonies, the meal came out seamlessly followed by tea and coffees. It was then set up for the night do while the guests went for a drink in the conservatory/ restaurant/ outside area. The candleabras which were used (for free) as part of our centrepieces were set up on the top table with the DJs kit looked really good.
The food: What can we say? We eat a lot and the food at the vineyard is some of the best we've had. Simple, tasty, high quality food and decent portions! We had our tasting months before the wedding and our guests had the choice of 3-4 options for all 3 courses which we asked our guests to choose before the day (not sure if they could have just ordered on the day or not) as we felt it would be quicker and easier to know beforehand. The food on the day was beautiful, some guests commenting that it was the best wedding breakfast they had ever had. It came out timely and not a single person got the wrong order, again so impressive. Particularly high praise for the beef, perfectly cooked and tender. Also for the Eton Mess, just wow. Having tea and coffee with dessert was also a nice touch.
The night time buffet was absolutely outstanding-we had asked if we could have chip butties for the evening and received the best chip butties ever: ciabatta bread, butter, the tastiest home made chips, gravy, mushy peas and they even grated some chipshop curry flavoured cheese leftover from the canapés (of which the leftovers were also available all evening). There was more than enough for everyone.
All the guests staying at the accommodation had breakfast back up in the function room of the vineyard for £10pp, buffet breakfast with high quality sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, toast, sauce and preserves- just what was needed!
The staff: I feel emotional writing this. The most hardworking, happy, professional, caring group of people we could have ever hoped for providing customer service at our wedding. We really felt like every single person working there just wanted us to have the best day. Every one of them went above and beyond. Particular mention to Sam who ended up running some of our guests in his own car to B&B's in town when taxis didn't show up, thank you so much. And also to Joe and Pippa who stayed late so that we could keep dancing--it was supposed to finish at 1am and they let us carry on until 2:45am, when asked if we really needed to leave they just said 'don't worry, it's fine, just enjoy yourself' which we did, thanks to them. Joe even ran the stragglers down to the accommodation, thank you!
Maria- we cannot even begin to thank you enough for giving us the perfect wedding day. We felt your passion and genuine love for what you do in the lead up and on the day. We felt so well looked after and that you literally would have done anything for us. Thank you for being at my ridiculous beck and call in the weeks up to the wedding, never being more than a phone call or email away and forever putting my mind at ease. Best wedding planner ever!!

This is a late review but needs to be shared! My husband and I had our wedding reception held at the Vineyard near the end of June. The package we chose allowed us to have the entire venue to ourselves, which made the day feel even more special and private. There was a top notch wedding breakfast and evening buffet with multiple compliments from our guests. Ashley, the now former manager, did a fantastic job ensuring the entire day ran smoothly. Liz helped dress up the function room with flowers and it looked incredible (Our tables are featured on the wedding portion of their website currently). We chose the Vineyard as our venue for the unparalleled views but the quality of the food, stand out service, and professionalism of all the staff made it a day we will never forget!
